About Us

At the Boston Children’s Hospital Margaret C. Ryan Global Health Program, we drive impactful change by collaborating with local partners to enhance access to safe, quality pediatric healthcare. From research, to education and capacity development, we deliver scalable and sustainable solutions in development and complex humanitarian settings worldwide.

Our Mission

We collaborate and innovate with local and global partners to achieve pediatric health equity and improve outcomes, through disease prevention and delivery of high-quality health services with measurable and sustained impact.

Our Vision

To improve the health, well-being,and social justice for children and their families worldwide.

We seek equitable partnership as the basis for all global health engagement.

Our work is embedded in principles of:
‍
Local partner autonomy in collaborative work
Prioritization of projects and ownership of all interventions and initiatives, building into existing structures, aligned to partner-chosen standards
‍
‍Partnerships based on mutual planning and clear expectations
‍
Seeking to balance power dynamics and including mechanisms for feedback and accountability
‍
‍Respect and humility
Recognizing the depth of context and culture that we may not yet understand even after prolonged partnerships, being open to learning more with ongoing self-reflection.

Sustainable solutions

Partner

We build collaborative relationships with local partners to ensure our interventions are culturally relevant and locally driven.

Pilot

We design and implement health interventions tailored to local needs, testing  solutions on a smaller scale to refine strategies.

Scale

Once proven, we work with local partners to scale up, reaching more children by integrating solutions into existing health systems.

Sustain

We sustain impact by empowering local partners via long-term collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge exchange.

Replicate

We replicate successful models, adapting them to other local contexts to maximize our global impact on child health.
